Who We Are
Founded in 2013, Pittsburgh Dataworks is a non-profit organization formed in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh and leading local and global firms to establish Pittsburgh as a leader in the dynamic and exponentially growing field of big data.
Pittsburgh Dataworks will help develop the big data workforce, encourage investment in big data projects and enterprises, and generate breakthrough applications, funding, and publicity for the Pittsburgh region.
The Pittsburgh Dataworks project has these broad goals:
To create a physical and virtual space in Pittsburgh where big data ideas, applications, and projects can originate;
To offer training and education that prepares the next generation of big data thinkers, workers, and promoters;
To promote Pittsburgh nationally as a leading destination for big data education, entrepreneurial opportunities and research; and
To advance community and regional economic development through growth in business related to big data.
